Great Sand Dunes Portfolio

Statement

To photograph the Great Sand Dunes of southern Colorado, is to photograph the elemental forces of wind, water
and time that have passed there and sculpted waves, curves, ripples and bowls.

These huge dunes are open, bare, and revealing of every movement in or across them.
At times the dunes seem to reveal an opening into an infinite, fathomless other realm of time and space.

Among the dunes I see a body, sensual, intriguing and alive.
Sometimes my mind thinks the body is human. Other times, the body of the dunes is a
being unknown to me, yet very present and alive before me, surrounding me, part of me, one with me.
